Company Overview
PC Laptops currently sells and services custom-configured,
Windows-based computer laptops to retail, government, educational
and enterprise clients—as well as selling a vast array
of mobile computing accessories. The company also services
most other brands of laptop computers and offers local,
in-house repair and upgrades.
Distribution
Headquartered in Sandy, Utah, PC Laptops operates four separate
retail and service locations based along the Wasatch Front.
These stores are currently located in Riverdale, Salt Lake
City, Sandy and Orem, Utah. These locations enable PC Laptops
to provide local service and support to its customers, where
most other computers must be sent away to another state
for service and repair.
In addition, PC Laptops currently
has agreements to sell its laptops in the college bookstores
at the University of Utah (Salt Lake City), Utah State University
(Logan, Utah), Utah Valley State College (Orem, Utah), and
Weber State University (Ogden, Utah). The company also retails

Product Lines
PC Laptops currently offers six models of its E-Pro line
of portable computers: Max, Ultra, Supra, Traveler, Allure
and Essencia. These models are available in more than 150
different configurations to meet the specific needs of its
customers. These laptop models are all custom-configured
and tested for optimal performance by PC Laptops’ staff
of technicians and engineers. Hand-selecting each component
of their laptop lines enables the company to offer the self-proclaimed
“best laptops available on the planet.”
Customer Service
PC Laptops focuses on local, personal service to differentiate
itself in a crowded mobile PC market. The company’s
“Now, Now, Now!” program means that customers
can
• see and test a laptop now (in one of the company’s
retail outlets),
• buy a laptop now (other companies require build
and shipping wait times), and
• customers can get service now on any machine they
bring into a retail outlet.
Every PC Laptops machine also comes with a lifetime service
guarantee—including free labor—a one-year parts
warranty and a three-year processor warranty.
History
PC Laptops was founded in 1994 as Elite Systems LLC and was
primarily a desktop computer hardware VAR (Value-Added Reseller)
and a network-consulting group. Elite Systems then broadened
its scope to include laptop computers and there found a
niche in which it could focus and excel. In early 2002,
Elite Systems was renamed PC Laptops LLC to capitalize on,
and more accurately, reflect this corporate focus.
