PC Laptops recently launched its E-Pro Max 585
portable computer, a laptop that includes a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 processor.
The company said it will sell the laptop for less than $3,000.
PC Laptops currently has six models
of its E-Pro line of portable computers -- the Max, Ultra, Supra,
Traveler and Essencia. The standard configuration of the E-Pro
Max 585 includes 1G byte of DDR RAM (1,024M bytes), a 40G-byte
hard drive (5400 rpm), a 64M-byte ATI Radeon 9000 graphics card,
a 15-inch UXGA active matrix display, an 8x DVD/CD-RW combination
drive (16x10x24 on the CD-RW), removable 3.5-inch disk drive,
and a front panel audio DJ CD player. Also included is integrated
10/100 Ethernet, V.90 56K bit/sec fax/modem card, one Type II
PC Card slot, four USB 2.0 ports, one IEEE 1394 port, and Windows
XP Professional. This standard configuration costs $2,999, PC Laptops
said.
The laptop measures 1.7- by 13- by 11.4-inches, and weighs 9.6
