NEWS RELEASES - Notebook Computers
from PC Laptops Now Available in Bookstores
SANDY, Utah – November 20, 2002 – PC Laptops today announced that its notebook computers are now available in bookstores at four colleges and universities in Utah along the Wasatch Front. The University of Utah (in Salt Lake City), Utah State University (in Logan), Utah Valley State College (in Orem), and Weber State University (in Ogden) have each begun selling PC Laptops brand laptop computers. PC Laptops, the self-proclaimed maker of “the best laptops on the planet,” is providing three basic configurations of notebook computers at these bookstores that are designed specifically for the education marketplace: entry-level, mid-level and high-end notebooks. Suggested retail price points for these portable computers begin at $1,599, $2,599, and $2,899, respectively. “We’ve had nothing but positive feedback since adding the PC Laptops product line to our bookstore,” said Tim Eck, director of computing services at the Weber State University bookstore. “Their laptops are absolutely killer, their service is amazing, and this has been a great relationship since the get-go.” Students, educators and staff members at each educational institution are now able to purchase laptops customized to their specific needs by PC Laptops’ design team, much as PC Laptops does for customers that purchase machines through one of its four stores in Utah or over the Internet. “Having a computer – particularly a kick-butt portable like a PC Laptops notebook computer – is an absolute necessity in today’s college environment,” said Dan “The Laptop Man” Young, president of PC Laptops. “Even if I didn’t complete a college degree myself, I know that going to college is hard enough without having to hassle with looking for and buying a computer. In that regard, I’m glad that we can help remove one challenge for students and educators at these four great educational institutions along the Wasatch Front.” PC Laptops is investigating similar relationships with other colleges and universities, both in Utah and throughout the United States.
